Healthy eating on the road

Updated October 2026

Eating well on the road is hard, but small changes add up.

Easy wins

Keep a cooler or fridge stocked with fruit, vegetables, yogurt, nuts and lean protein. Drink water instead of sugary drinks. At truck stops, choose grilled over fried and watch portion sizes.

Plan ahead

Prep simple meals before a run, and use a small cooker or lunchbox oven if your truck allows it.

General information, not medical advice. Your certified medical examiner decides whether you qualify and for how long.
